After working in a fantastic Gift Gallery, Joan discovered that there was a wonderful world of glass to be explored.
In 1999 Joan took a stained glass course which was the start of a brand new world for her. She did not realize how much she could do with it until she started experimenting. Joan started making her own beads with her torch to make jewellery. She moved on to fusing, slumping and draping glass. Joan was soon making plates, bowls and continued with jewellery.
Joan says" I like to create and have each piece come to life. With colour, texture, form and shape - and the unlimited potential that glass has to offer. I have been consumed with the passion of glass and its infinite possibilities that continue with every time I fire up the kilns or torch."
